Of pianist and composer Michael Brown, The New York Times said he is “one of the leading figures in the current renaissance of performer-composers.” According to The Chicago Tribune, he works “wonders at the keyboard.”
In January of 2019, Michael joined two other extraordinary musicians, pianists Adam Golka and Roman Rabinovich, for a weeklong recording session at Tippet Rise. A project of First Hand Records, the session would yield not one but three albums, all of them produced by the musicians and engineered, edited, and mastered by Monte Nickles and Jim Ruberto, audio engineers at Tippet Rise. Adam’s album, Volume 1 of the Complete Beethoven Piano Sonatas, was released last November and, in January of this year, First Hand released Michael’s recording, featuring works by Ravel and Medtner.
Now, Michael’s album is available to download for free from our Music Downloads Library. His work is in good company; the library features recordings by pianists Jenny Chen, Pedja Muzijevic, and Tippet Rise Co-Founder, Peter Halstead. It also includes Adam’s recording of Beethoven’s sonatas. For more information, please click on “More info” below.
