Description
The Los Angeles Times describes pianist Natasha Paremski's playing as "poetic" and "virtuosic." Paremski, whose credits include the Gilmore Young Artist Award, performs tonight with cellist Zuill Bailey, winner of two Grammy Awards this year for Best Contemporary Classical Composition and Best Classical Instrumental Solo. The duo will perform works from Sergei Prokofiev, Igor Stravinsky, and Sergei Rachmaninoff, including Prokofiev’s surprisingly romantic and ethereal Sonata for Cello and Piano in C Major, Op. 119 and Stravinsky’s buoyant _Suite Italienne_ for Cello and Piano, a modernist master channeling his own version of early music.
